Market Analysis

This week's economic data will be overshadowed by performance of the stock market, investor demand for $104 billion in new Treasury debt and investor response to Wednesday's post meeting statement from the Federal Reserve's two-day meeting which begins on Tuesday. 

Below are the economic reports scheduled to be released this week:

Tuesday

  • May Existing Home Sales - Expected to be up 2.7%

Wednesday

  • May New Home Sales - Expected to be up 2.2%

Thursday

  • Initial jobless claims for the week ened 6/25/09 - Expected to be down 8,000
  • Finl Revision Q1 2009 GD - expected to be down 5.7%

Friday

  • May Personal Income and Spending and the Personal Consumption Expenditure Index (PCE) - Income expected up .3%, Spending expected up .3%, PCE (a measure of inflation at the consumer level) expected up .1%.
