Market Analysis

US Treasury bonds are up this morning but mortgage-backed securities (MBS) issued by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are barely moved.  Spreads are widening between Treasury yields and the MBS as public discussions of the future of Fannie and Freddie may be giving pause to investors who think that their securities are as "safe" as US Treasury notes.

The economic calendar is vacant today.
